Out of the Marvellous | The Lyric Feature

<p>Writer Sara Baume and radio producer Regan Hutchins visit St Mary's Cistercian Abbey in Glencairn, Co.Waterford. Speaking&nbsp;to the nuns there about prayer, silence and mystery and hear&nbsp;from other artists about how these themes also inform their work.&nbsp;</p>

Sara Baume says "I feel very lucky to occasionally have the opportunity to make a programme for radio with Regan Hutchins, radio producer extraordinaire.

Last autumn we set out on a new odyssey and the fruits of our labour will be broadcast this Sunday at 6pm on RTE Lyric FM, a programme titled 'Out of the Marvellous' which we've borrowed from the end of a Seamus Heaney poem I studied for my Leaving Cert many moons ago.

There's a short piece I wrote about the genesis of the programme on the rte.ie website today, with a link in my bio, and I'll post the podcast next week, but if you can please do tune in on Sunday to eavesdrop on our meandering conversations and to hear some beautiful, profound insights and commentary from the artists Bernadette Cotter and Danny McCarthy, as well as the sisters of Glencairn Abbey in Co. Waterford.

At certain point I may also use my dog voice and make sheep imitation noises...
