"Look Ma No Han"

Stet Lab Cork city's home to experimental and improvised musics returns under new management to its home in The Roundy next Monday at 9 pm. As well as the usual Stet Lab crew the night’s special guest will be Danny Mc Carthy aka “the silence becomes the sound”. Mc Carthy who forms one half of The Quiet Club (with Mick O’Shea) makes a rare solo appearance. He has performed alongside some of the leading sound artists and improvising musicians in the world including Stephen Vitiello, David Toop, Max Eastley and many others. His works has appeared in many national and international exhibitions and will feature in a major exhibition “Strange Attractor” in the Crawford Gallery in April as well as co curating “Just Listen” a conference/exhibition of sound art for the National Sculpture Factory also in April. His work has appeared on numerous CD’s including the latest release from Farpoint Recordings “Soundcast 4x4+1”. He will be joined on the night by Stet Lab’s new curator Kevin Terry plus others.
