Crannchur (The Casting Of Sticks)

Crannchur (
The Casting Of Sticks) is the name of a
new collaborative improvised work by Jessica Bonenfant Coogan and Danny
McCarthy. The work takes its basis from the ogham alphabet where each letter is
named after a tree and will consist of an installation with sound. It will also
incorporate live dance and movement elements by Jessica Bonenfant Coogan, Johanna Rotkin and
live improvised sound both electronic and acoustic by Danny McCarthy. The work will incorporate live recordings made by McCarthy in the chapel in IMMA where he previously performed the work as an audio piece.All the artists are highly regarded in their fields with national and international
reputations.
The work
will be presented in two different locations. One in My Place where it will be
located in the main hall/theatre space and the following day Sunday in the open air in Baby Walk Public Park.
