"Site Of Sound"

The Quiet Club

“Site Of Sound” offers a unique listening experience in one of Ireland's hidden architectural gems. Holy Trinity Church, East Ferry, Midleton is situated beside the water on the edge of Cork Harbour. Rarely used as a concert venue it offers unique sonic possibilities along with the fact that it doesn’t even have electricity and is lit and heated by gas.The Quiet Club along with special guest cellist Ilse De Ziah will explore its unique acoustics to the full and will take the audience on a once in a lifetime listening experience. Listening is at the core of The Quiet Club’s practice and their work is totally free improvisation which always returns to “listening” as its core. Regarded as one of Ireland’s leading sound art/improvisation groups they have performed all over the world and have numerous CDs and other releases. Their work is available from www.farpointrecordings.com and on the door on the night. With their blend of homemade and adapted instrumentation along with Ilse’s wonderful cello this promises to be a great one off listening experience. Advance booking is strongly advised as the venue is small.Tickets 10e Booking soundworksunlimited@gmail.com or 0872403940
